Our studio is ideally located on the beach road of Stalis, just a 1-minute walk from the beach and within easy reach of restaurants, bars, shops, pharmacies, medical centres, and anything else you may need during your stay.
Our concept
The studio you will be staying in is part of a small complex of two units, known as Kapetánissa Concept Studios, offering a cozy and thoughtfully designed environment.
In the Cretan dialect, Kapetánissa represents the woman who takes charge of the household – independent, dynamic, and caring, a true leader who nurtures both her people and her land. This inspiring figure is at the heart of Kapetánissa Concept Studios.
Our spaces are designed to make every guest feel welcome, safe, and cared for, while offering an authentic connection to Crete – a timeless essence of hospitality passed down to us by our grandmothers, our very own Kapetánissas.
Architecture & Design
Each studio is inspired by the Cretan landscape and heritage, combined with modern comfort and amenities. Both studios share the same architectural concept, featuring natural materials such as stone, wood, and earthy textures. The Zála Accessible Studio has been carefully designed to also accommodate guests with limited mobility.
Accessibility Features
The Zála Accessible Studio is located on the ground floor and includes a wheel-in shower with grab rails and a shower chair. The kitchen and bedroom follow an open-plan layout, allowing for easy wheelchair movement. There is also the option to rent an electric wheelchair through a local provider.
Amenities
The studio is fully equipped to ensure a comfortable stay. The kitchen includes a stove, oven, fridge, microwave, filter coffee machine, Nespresso machine, kettle, toaster, and all necessary kitchenware. We also provide filter coffee, Cretan herbal tea, Nespresso capsules, as well as basic ingredients such as salt, pepper, vinegar, and olive oil from our family’s olive groves.
The bathroom has been designed for comfort and ease of movement. Guests are provided with eco-friendly, cruelty-free, and locally made shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap, along with fresh towels.
The bedroom area features a double bed and a single bed, a wardrobe, a dressing table, and a Smart TV. You will also find a safety box, hairdryer, and iron for your convenience.
Decoration
Most decorative elements in the studio are handmade by local artisans, with some pieces coming from our own family heritage. They are intended to offer a glimpse into Crete’s history and everyday life, so we kindly ask guests to treat them with care.
Sustainability
Join us in promoting a more sustainable way of travelling. The kitchen sink is equipped with a water filter, so you can safely drink tap water or refill your bottle.
Inside the studio, you will find clear guidelines for separating organic waste from recyclable materials. The toiletries provided are eco-friendly, cruelty-free, locally produced, and come in biodegradable packaging. Cleaning products used in the studio are also eco-friendly, and eco-friendly laundry detergent is available upon request.
For energy efficiency, the air conditioning operates only when windows are closed, and the studio is equipped with a card-activated electricity system.
Outside space
Guests have exclusive access to the apartment they have booked, which is private and not shared with other guests. The apartment also features its own designated seating area, reserved for the guests of that unit, including chairs and a table, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee.
In addition, there is a shared outdoor seating area available to all guests. This garden space includes tables and chairs, ideal for enjoying breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a relaxing glass of wine.

Is there a transport service from and to the airport?
Yes, we can arrange your transport from and to the airport via our trusted local partner, at an extra cost.
How often are bed sheets and towels changed?
To minimize water consumption, towels and bedsheets are changed once a week. If you need fresh ones earlier, just let us know and we will be happy to replace them,
Can I store my luggage before check-in or after check-out?
Yes, we are able to store your luggage at our premises.
What are the check-in and check-out hours?
Check-in is from 15:00 to 22:00 and check-out until 11:00. Please, contact us if you need to check-in earlier or check-out later so that we can assist you better.
How do I get inside the apartment?
The host will be there to welcome you and help you settle in.
Is breakfast included?
No, breakfast is not included. However, you may use the private kitchen inside the apartment to cook anything you like. We provide you with olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, honey, coffee, Nespresso capsules and Cretan herbal tea.
